Hi, I’m Emily! Born and raised in the Bay Area, I’ve loved making art my whole life - lettering in particular, even before I knew what to call it.

When I’m not working, I’m a big lover of hobbies, mostly in the categories of making things (baking, sewing, ceramics) and being outdoors (gardening, adventure walks with my dog, dragon boat paddling).

I loved school (honestly, would be happy to go back), so after college I got an MFA in Illustration from the Academy of Art in San Francisco. I could never choose a single “thing” to do, hence the many categories of work on this site.

People often ask me what I do, a perfectly reasonable question that definitely doesn’t give me any anxiety. A vague explanation: most things involving lettering. An incomplete list:

Hand-painted signs that will last for years
Monograms and other personalizations painted live at your event to create unique and special take-home items for your guests
Chalkboard art for your businesses or event
Creative escort and table displays - paper, wood, oyster shells, acrylic, whatever you can think of
Digital lettering and illustration for your print or online publications
