Hand-painted goodies for Mudworks Ceramics Studio in El Cerrito
I recently had the pleasure of doing some painting for my beloved local ceramics studio! Under new ownership, they were ready to customize the space and grab some attention on the sidewalk with a nice painted front door and A-frame. The owner had a clear idea of what she wanted so the design process was a breeze.
We started with the A-frame - great weather here in the Bay Area lately so I treated myself to a day painting in my backyard.
The cozy backyard setup
Nothing like a nice breeze to carry away the enamel fumes
Next up was the front door, where we decided to paint the logo and open studio hours. It’s been a little while since I’ve painted on glass, so I did a little warm-up practice beforehand to get back in the swing of painting with the pattern on the other side.
Thanks for the lovely photo, Chai!
Painting letters backwards doesn’t feel as weird as you’d think
All in all it was a lovely day painting in the studio and I’m very happy with the results. Seeing my work around town at small local businesses makes me so happy! If you’re looking for a ceramics studio, I highly recommend checking out Mudworks!
